The Language Guesthouse is located in the main place of the small winegrowers' town Vogtsburg amidst the winegrowing and recreaction area "Kaiserstuhl"

The nearest restaurant is located in a distance of 200 m, the nearest bakery in 200 m, the nearest supermarket in 300 m, the nearest church (catholic) in 200 m, the nearest railway station in 700 m from the Language Guesthouse. You reach the vineyards in a two minutes walk, the distance to the local swimming pool is 1 km, to a swimming lake 3 km, to the river Rhine 3 km, to the Black Forest 25 km. Bigger cities are Breisach am Rhein (9 km), Freiburg im Breisgau (25 km), Colmar (Alsace/25 km). Strasbourg (Alsace/70 km), Basel (Switzerland / 70 km).

 

 

B+B rooms in the New Building

	Bed & Breakfast House

 

A cosy attic room (single bedroom) is situated on the second floor of the new building.

On the same floor a spacious studio room (26 sqm) for 2 people or likewise for a whole family: The pull-out sofa provides another bed of size 135x200 cm.
Also on the attic floor you find the modern and bright guests' bathroom with tub, shower , 2 sinks and toilet.

On the first floor we have another big room, which can be used as additional bedroom for two or as living room. The room has a balcony and a beautiful view of the park at the neighbour winery. This room is equipped with television set, hi-fi system, piano and a home library containing books and parlour games.

The large kitchen with dining room (table and seats for 6 people) and a separate toilet are provided on the same floor.
From the dining room you have acces to the large balcony, where Mediterranean plants are greening and flowering throughout the summer. At summer time it actually is the most beautiful spot of the Language Guesthouse. It's the perfect place to enjoy a sunny breakfast or maybe a delicate dinner or barbecue party on warm evenings and sit and talk with a glass of wine until midnight.

The new building (B&B house) provides room for up to 6 guests in 3 rooms (single / double / triple room)

 

Apartment in the Old Winegrower's House

	The Old Winegrower's House

 

Part of the Language Guesthouse is a flat which has been available as language students' or tourists' accommodation since spring 2010.

The flat is located on the ground floor of the old winegrower's house. Its size is about 55 square metres. It has a large bed- and living room (double bed + sofa bed), a bright and sunny living hall with another sleeping accommodation (sofa bed), a modern bathroom with tub and a kitchen with dining corner. The kitchen provides all needed self-catering facilities (electric stove, oven, sink, dish washer, fridge, pots and pans, plates and dishes, microwave, coffee maker etc.)

The entrance looks at the patio of the house. In the patio is an outdoor sitting area (table, chairs, bench)

The flat has a wooden floor in the big room and tiles in the hall, kitchen and bathroom.
It is suitable for allergic persons, and for slightly handicapped people (4 steps, not for wheel chairs).

Predominantly it is a holiday home for self-caterers. Optional - and recommended to language students - you can book breakfast, half or full board and lodging.

Carsharing Vehicle Available

Guests at the Language Guesthouse get the convenient Konus ticket, which is valid to use the local public transport without further costs. This is an attractive offer not only for those, who have arrived by plane. However, a spontaneous Sunday trip to the Lake of Constance might become an intricate task using buses and trains. Lucky who can get a car for rent nearby.

And that's possible! It's only a few minutes walk from the Language Guesthouse to the parking site of an Opel estate car owned by the Breisach Carsharing Club. This car may be rented by guests of the Language Guest house at a low carsharing rate, if a valid (international) driving licence can be presented.

Therefore: Don't forget your driving licence! You'll take a better advantage of all the amazing cultural offerings of the region.

 

 

How to get there

A. By car:

Motorway A5 (Frankfurt-Basel) >> Exit 59 (Riegel) or 60 (Teningen) >> Bahlingen >> Vogtsburg >> in Vogtsburg-Oberrotweil pass the centre and the church on the main road and head for the station >> The Language Guesthouse is situated on the left-hand side of the main road opposite the winery "Freiherr von Gleichenstein"

B. By train or bus from Freiburg im Breisgau (Main station):

Train/bus: At Freiburg (main station) take the suburban train to Breisach (Breisgau S-Bahn) >> at Breisach change for the Kaiserstuhlbahn (train) or bus line 102 to Oberrotweil >> walk about 7 minutes along Bahnhofstraße >> the Language Guesthouse is situated on the right-hand side opposite the winery "Freiherr von Gleichenstein"

Bus: From Freiburg main station take the tram (line 1) to Landwasser >> at the final stop ("Moosweiher") change for the bus 295 to Vogtsburg. >> get out the bus in Vogtsburg-Oberrotweill (stop „Kirche“(church) or„Post“)
